1. Using the Washroom
Under the Indian Sarias Act of 1867, a person can use the wash room or even ask for drinking water in the hotels without any charges and at any time of the day! Not even for themselves, but they can bring their pets too!
2. Before Sunrise and After Sunset
The ruling Supreme Court has declared that a woman could not be arrested before the sunrise and after the sunset in order to curb harassment in the wee hours. However, the police would require proof in order to disobey the laws.
3. Lodging an FIR
Another law in India in favor of the women is about lodging a FIR at any police station. Announced in 2013, a woman can lodge a FIR in any police station irrespective of the place and also the time.
4. Arrest of Women Offenders
This law came under the Section 51 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973. Most of the women offenders can be arrested only by women officers. The timing of a should be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.!
5. File a Complaint
The women can also file a complaint to the Deputy Commissioner of Police with the help of an email or a registered Post. The complaint is granted in favour of the woman if she is unable to walk over to the Police Station!
6. Kissing or hugging in public
Enforced by the law, Section 294 of the Indian Penal Code, the obscenity in public is a very beautiful thing to go for. If two lovers are seen to be Kissing in Public or even hugging in public, it is not a Crime!
7. Pregnant Women:
Under the Maternity benefit Act 1961, no woman can be fired from job if they are Pregnant. Firing can be only done if the women have committed a serious crime!
8. Adopting a Girl Child
In the year of 2011, the Ministry of Women and Child Development declared that a Single Man must never be allowed to adopt a Girl Child!
9. Unmarried Couples in Hotels!
The laws declare that Unmarried couples looking for hotels are not illegal. The Hotel Association of India states that there is no such rule to deny them!
10. Live In Relationships:
With society backing out for Live in Relationships, they are actually not illegal. Also, children who are born out of a live-in relationship have the full rights to the parent’s property!
