Despite RAAZI, Which All Movies Were Not Screened?
Raazi is undoubtedly a controversial movie that has a blessing for India. While Pakistan has not really opened door to feature films that reveal their crucial side. Due to its controversial theme, this movie won’t screen in Pakistan theaters. A list of movies is available with us that was banned in Pakistan.
On release of the movie Pari starring Anushka Sharma, hit the theatres in India. The same day it was banned from screening in the theatres of Pakistan. This was done because the content of this horror film promoted Black Magic and some Non-Islamic Values. It would hurt Muslim Sentiments so it was barred from screening in theaters.
Pakistan Based Nueplex Cinemas Posted
On Facebook Saying:
“We have just been informed that PARI has been banned by the Central Board of Film Censors, Pakistan. Hence the film will not be screened at Nueplex Cinemas. Tickets already sold can be refunded from our box office. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
PadMan starring Akshay Kumar is based on women issues like menstrual hygiene. And so was too bold for Pakistan to face it so they banned the same.
According to Indian Express, the country’s
Federal Censor Board member Ishaq Ahmed Said:
“We can’t allow our film distributors to import films which are against our traditions and culture.”
Tiger Zinda Hai
Salman Khan’s movie Tiger Zinda Hai was not released in Pakistan as ‘it compromises the image of Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies’.
Pakistan’s Central Board of Film Censor (CBFC) chairman, Mobasher Hasan told The Express Tribune-
“Tiger Zinda Hai has been refused the NOC, citing the same reason as the first instalment of the franchise. The image of Pakistan and its law enforcement agencies has been compromised.”
The Pakistani board finds the movie not worthy of the screening. And the reason remains constant they don’t want their country name to be below India. They repeatedly demanded two scene to be removed. Can you guess what they find offensive in a clean movie like dangal? They asked to cut two scenes namely- the one involving the National flag and the national anthem. While Producer Aamir Khan had not complied with the demands so it was not screened in pakistan.
The movie Neerja is based on a real-life story of Neerja Bhanot. It revolves around the story of the hijack of the Pan America Flight 73 at the Karachi airport in 1986. When the flight was hijacked by terrorists, Neerja does her best to stop terrorist from attacking the passengers on board. And this being a real story just like Raazi, was banned to screen in Pakistan. As they found Pakistan being projected in negative limelight.
