Ashok Gehlot To Be Rajasthan’s Next CM, Sachin Pilot To Be Deputy CM

Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot will be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Congress announced. The 67-year-old, Mr. Gehlot has served the state as Chief Minister twice (1998-2003;2008-2013). He has won from Sardarpura seat by defeating BJP candidate Shambhu Singh by a margin of over 40,000 votes.  State Congress President Sachin Pilot is state’s, Deputy Chief Minister.

Badminton stars Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap took to Twitter to announce their marriage on December 14. Both the badminton stars had extended their wedding invitations to coach Pullela Gopichand and other celebrities along with some ministers. They have been training with Gopichand since 2005 and were reportedly dating for the past 10 years.

Arun Jaitley trashes Cong demand for JPC on Rafale, Says ‘Deaf Will Never Hear’

Arun Jaitley unequivocally rejected the Congress’ demand to set up a joint parliamentary committee of lawmakers to investigate the Rafale deal. “The deaf will never hear an answer,” he said. He asserted that the Rafale deal has protected both security and commercial interest of India. Earlier in the day, Supreme Court dismissed all the petitions seeking a court-monitored investigation into the Rafale deal.

Nepal bans Indian currency notes above Rs 100

The Nepal government has prohibited the usage of Indian currency of the denominations – Rs 2,000, Rs 500 and Rs 200. The decision was declared at the last cabinet meeting by Minister of Information Gokul Baskota. The decision was made in view of the ‘Visit Nepal Year’, a 2020 celebration that is estimated to drive in at least 2 million people to Nepal, with a majority of them from India.

Congress leader Kamal Nath to take oath as Madhya Pradesh CM on December 17

Chief minister-designate Kamal Nath will take an oath of office at a ceremony to be held on December 17. He will be the 18th chief minister of Madhya Pradesh. The Congress Legislative Party (CLP) held a meeting on Wednesday evening to elect their leader. The CLP left the decision to AICC president Rahul Gandhi and after the meeting, it was decided that Kamal Nath will be the CM of Madhya Pradesh.
