This Peruvian dish is made from meat marinated in a special ají panca (hot red pepper) sauce, skewered on a cane stick and then grilled. The skewered heart anticucho is considered one of the most traditional and popular dishes in some South American countries– in Peruvian and Bolivian cuisine.

Jerk chicken, Jamaica

In this dish, the chicken on the bone is slathered in a marinade of allspice, thyme, scotch bonnet chilies, ginger, and spring onions. The meat is left overnight to absorb the flavors before being grilled over pimento wood.

Banana cue or banana kyu is a popular snack in the Philippines. A banana cue is simply made from cardaba or saba bananas, a kind of banana that grows in many tropical Asian countries like the Philippines, rolled in brown sugar and then deep fried. The bananas are deep fried and coated in caramelized brown sugar before being skewered on bamboo sticks.

Chapli Kebab, Pakistan

Chapli kebab is a form of kebabs widely popular in Pakistan. Mixed together with a South Asian blend of spices, the beef is flattened into circles and shallow-fried. Ingredients such as wheat flour, eggs, onions, tomatoes, ginger, coriander, green chilies, and spices such as garam masala and chili powder are mixed in with raw minced meat before being molded into a round shape.
