It’s the year of Queens. And we’re talking about Bollywood Queens.
IMDb has released the list of top 10 stars of Indian Cinema for 2019, based on the data compiled from IMDbPro STARmeter rankings, which are based on the actual page views of the more than 200 million monthly IMDb visitors.
It’s a great moment for women, especially in the entertainment industry, as this year 7 out of the top 10 actors are women.
International star Priyanka Chopra has topped the list (no surprises here), followed closely by Disha Patani, who has had a tremendous year with Bharat. Kiara Advani, who seems to be on a success roll, has also made the list by bagging the fourth position in the same.
Here is the complete list by IMDb:
- Priyanka Chopra Jonas
- Disha Patani
- Hrithik Roshan
- Kiara Advani
- Akshay Kumar
- Salman Khan
- Alia Bhatt
- Katrina Kaif
- Rakul Preet Singh
- Sobhita Dhulipala
Other actresses included in the list are Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, Rakul Preet Singh and Sobhita Dhulipala.
Kudos to the ladies!
Critics that Ashutosh Gowariker directed ‘Panipat’ is as good as a mere history lesson.
Ashutosh Gowariker directed ‘Panipat’ released this Friday. Even though the film has failed to sweep critics with an overpowering appreciation, critics have still lauded the film as a history lesson that will at least teach people about the bloody war fought between the Marathas and the Afghans. And we’re like, “We’re not going to send 400 bucks for a mere history lesson. We can do that from Wikipedia for free, or youtube. Besides, we’re not sure if Arjun Kapoor is the right person to teach us history.” As far as the acting goes, almost all people have appreciated the roles of Kriti Sanon and all other actors in the film. Except Arjun Kapoor. So basically, tough day for Arjun Kapoor.
Romantic comedy ‘Pati Patni aur Woh’ is your weekend watch.
If you are in fact in the mood to watch a movie this weekend, better watch ‘Pati, Patni aur Woh’. This re-imagined version of the 1978 film definitely borrows the central idea of marital infidelity from its predecessor, but in no way is it same or similar. Kartik Aryan’s goofy, charming, middle class guy harbouring obvious female fantasies, coupled with Aparshakti Khurrana’s hilarious antics will, surely, definitely, appeal to every married middle class guy, if not women. Do yourself a favour and plan a movie night for your father and his friends for this one.
