It has hardly been 3 months into 2020, and the world has never been in a more fragile state than the one it is in right now.

International rivalries, economic slowdown, hate speeches, populist propaganda, biological and natural disasters….and above all, the earth crying out in dismay. Can someone hear her?

Is Coronavirus, the cause of COVID-19, the earth’s defense against its most fatal virus- human beings?

Here is a chronological summary of every major event that has happened in the world in the first quarter of 2020.

January

Events of 2020 - January Australia Bush Fires - 2020 so far

January 2 –Government of Victoria, Australia declares a state of disaster amid large bushfires. Nearly 500 million animals have been killed in the disaster.

Big Events of 2020 - Jan 2020 - Tension between Iran & USA - 2020 so far

January 3 – A U.S. drone strike at Baghdad International Airport kills Iranian general Qasem Soleimani and Iraqi paramilitary leader Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.

 

Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 - Jan 2020 Events - 2020 so far

January 8- Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 is shot down by Iran’s armed forces. This happened shortly after the plane took off from Tehran Imam Khomeini Airport, killing all 176 people on board.

January 31 – {Brexit} The United Kingdom and Gibraltar formally withdraw from the European Union at 11PM (GMT)

Huge Impact on Market due to Corona Virus - 2020 so far

February 27 – The Dow Jones Industrial stock sees its largest one-day points decline in history. The Average plunged by 1,190.95 points, or 4.4%, to close at 25,766.64. This follows several days of large falls, marking the worst week for the index since 2008, triggered by fears of the spreading coronavirus.
