AgustaWestland Case: Christian Michel’s CBI Custody Extended by 4 Day

A Delhi court on Saturday extended the CBI custody of Christian Michel James, the alleged middleman in the Rs 3,600-crore AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal case, by four days. The court refused to allow Michel’s lawyer Rosemary Patrizi to meet him in CBI custody. Michel is being probed for having paid kickbacks worth over Rs 400 crore to Indian decision makers in the AgustaWestland scam involving allegations of bribery in the procurement of 12 VVIP helicopters.

Anti-Sterlite Protest: NGT Orders Reopening Vedanta’s Copper Plant, State Govt. To Move SC Against The Order

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Saturday set aside the Tamil Nadu government’s order to shut Vedanta’s copper smelter plant in Thoothukudi permanently. In response to this verdict, the Tamil Nadu government decided to approach the Supreme Court against NGT’s verdict. The order came months after Tamil Nadu ordered the shut down over alleged pollution. At least 13 people were killed and several injured when police fired a group of protesters demanding its shut down.

23 Indian Passports Go Missing From Pakistan High Commission

Twenty-three Indian passports have been reported missing allegedly from Pakistan high commision, leading to the security threat. The passports belonged to Sikh pilgrims who were looking to visit gurudwaras in Pakistan, including the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur, which holds special significance in the Sikh religion. Pakistan had issued visas to over 3,800 Indian Sikh pilgrims to participate in the 549th birth anniversary celebration of Guru Nanak from November 21 to 30.

World Tour Finals: Sindhu Beats Thailand’s Ratchanok Intanon To Reach Final

Indian ace shuttler PV Sindhu stormed into the final of the World Tour Finals as she swept aside 2013 world champion Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand in straight games to storm into the final of the World Tour Finals for the second successive time in Guangzhou, China on Saturday. Sindhu finished runner-up at the last edition and staved off a strong challenge from the fighting Thai to emerge a 21-16, 25-23 winner in 54 minutes.

MNF Cheif Zoramthanga Takes Oath as Mizoram Chief Minister

Mizo National Front (MNF) president Zoramthanga took oath as the chief minister of Mizoram, amid Christian rituals, at the Raj Bhavan at 12 noon on Saturday.  Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mr. Zoramthanga and his council of Ministers at Raj Bhavan. The 74-year-old rebel-turned-politician Zoramthanga has been chief minister of Mizoram twice. The MNF returned to power in Mizoram by bagging 26 seats of the 40-member state legislature in the assembly polls held on November 28.

Ishaan Khatter Opens Up On Rumours Of Dating Jhanvi Kapoor

Rumours of Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor dating have been doing the rounds since the release of their film Dhadak. Recently, Janhvi was seen on Karan Johar’s show, Koffee With Karan where Janhvi was asked about the equation she shares with Ishaan. Now, Ishaan was asked about the same at an event in Mumbai. The actor replied, “He didn’t joke about it but asked the question on a serious note. He generally puts everyone under the scanner. I spoke to him (about dating Janhvi) on the show. The episode will air soon.”
