NIA Detains 10 Persons In Connection With ISIS-Inspired Module
Five people allegedly linked to a new ISIS module have been arrested in Amroha in Uttar Pradesh in a joint operation of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and UP’s anti-terror squad (ATS). The raids were conducted on the basis of information regarding a new ISIS module named ‘Harkat-ul-Harb-e-Islam’. Inspector General of Police of UP ATS Asim Arun confirmed that five people linked to a terror group have been arrested. At least 10 other people are reported to have been detained for questioning by the NIA and the UP ATS.

Three Siblings From Telangana Die In Fire Mishap In US
Three Indian teenaged siblings were among four killed in a fire at a house in Collierville, US, two days before Christmas, according to media reports. A woman Kari Coudriet of Collierville, and Sharron, 17, Joy, 15, and Aaron, 14, teen siblings of the Naik family from India, all died in the fire, said a statement released by the Coudriet’s Collierville Bible Church. The siblings were studying at French Camp Academy, an interdenominational Christian boarding home and academy in Mississippi.
10 Lakh Bank Employees On Nationwide Strike Today
Banking services across India are affected today (December 26) as nearly 10 lakh bank employees are on a day-long strike. The strike has been called by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU). The union claims to have a membership of nearly 10 lakh bank employees and officers across 21 public sector banks. The bank employees are protesting against the proposed merger of many public sector banks, besides demanding pay revision.
Golfer Jyoti Randhawa Arrested On Poaching Charges In Uttar Pradesh
International golfer Jyoti Randhawa and national level shooter Mahesh Virajdar were arrested on Wednesday on poaching charges in Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich, a senior forest officer said. The arrests took place in Motipur Range of Katerniaghat, field director Dudhwa Tiger Reserve (DTR) Ramesh Kumar Pandey. A red Isuzu SUV, a .22 rifle and other equipment along with wildlife articles were seized from them, the official said. Divisional forest officer of Katerniaghat is investigating the case. Randhawa, 46, ranked in the top 100 of the Official World Golf Ranking several times between 2004 and 2009.
