Kevin Systrom shared his discovery with the world that was co-founded with Mike Krieger. And the former named it Instagram. Soon after its discovery, it became an overnight sensation and was loved by users. That it became the most popular photo-sharing application, known for its amazing filters. But soon after its success, it was eventually purchased by Facebook in 2012 worth $1 billion. Now Facebook is the owner of Instagram.
Ben Silbermann was also in a fix to gift this world with something amazing. He designed Pinterest to help the user discover information on the World Wide Web, with the use of images, GIFs, and videos. Sooner his innovation made him become a founder of his creation popularly know as Pinterest in March 2010. Before discovering Pinterest, Silbermann worked in the sales division at Google. This is owned by Cold Brew Labs, Inc.
On 21 March 2006, Twitter was found by Jack Dorsey(CEO), with co-founders namely- Noah Glass, Evan Williams, Biz Stone. Its one of the first “microblogging” platform that taught the world to think in 140 characters or less.
In 2009, an application called WhatsApp was launched by two founders namely Brian Acton and Jan Koum. They thought to create a personal space for its users. It allows the sending messages, voice calls, and video calls. Also, to allow sharing of images, media, documents, as well as user location. They both are former employees of Yahoo!.
On 2012, Kavin Bharti Mittal (son of Sunil Mittal- the founder, and chairman of Bharti Airtel). Its India’s largest telecom company with a user base of over 350 million. Kavin founded a messenger application inline with the concept of WhatsApp. This application is Android and iOS supported and was ranked world’s sixth-largest mobile messaging application.
Mark Zuckerberg is the CEO and one of the original co-founders of Facebook. Previously this application was available to use by university students only. But, now its open for use by general public. Facebook is one of the most popular applications used by all of us. The founders behind this creation despite Mark Zuckerberg were- Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz, Andrew McCollum and Chris Hughes.
On 14 February 2005, YouTube was launched by Chad Hurley with the help of Jawed Karim and Steve Chen. Its the best-known social video sharing site that became popular. And was purchased by Google in 2006 worth $1.65 billion.
David Karp is the founder and CEO of the social blogging site in Tumblr. It was discovered in 2007. And went so popular that in 2013, Tumblr was purchased by Yahoo worth more than $1 billion.
